A few things about me…..

I have many blessings including:

  • a loving and supportive husband (even, though, he’s not always thrilled about being on the other end of a 100lb. piece of concrete), who works hard, is honorable, laughs at the silly things I tell him, and has held my hand for more years than I can count.
  • three great kids who still think we have some common sense left and have added 3 children-in-law who are all special in their own way.
  • an extended family (including 3 brothers and their wonderful families) and dear friends who have touched our lives through the years.
  • and one of the greatest blessings on this earth is my 5 beautiful grandkids and 3 additional stepgrandkids. There are none cuter, sweeter, or more precious and we are honored to be their "Mops and Pops".

I love:

  • my Lord and Savior,
  • the quietness when snow is falling.
  • my red Ford pick-up (hauls our treasures).
  • lilacs, peonies, hydrangea, and tulips.
  • the fabulous sunsets in Rangely, Colo.
  • rocking babies.
  • chocolate.
  • gardening (although, I wimp out in the Texas heat).
  • my friend who puts up with my quirky ideas ( and actually sets out to find the stuff I put her in search of to finish off a room we are working on.
  • the smell of bread baking, antique roses, and mulled cider with cinnamon and oranges.
  • candlelight and lamps with low light ( it’s so homey).
  • the inspiration I receive from the many talented and creative friends I have in this business.

I am thankful:

  • that I live in the greatest country on earth,
  • for digital cameras (they make our job so much easier).
  • for my daughter’s banana pudding (yummy).
  • for the men, women, and their families who sacrifice so much to keep us safe.
  • for my "grand" wiener dog who took care of the mole problem in our yard
  • that my son is a good pilot (he rarely flies straight and level in his Pitts biplane).
  • for our president who has served with honor, dignity, and conviction.
  • for chocolate (oops, did I mention that somewhere?)

A few of my favorites are:

  • hardware and kitchen stores (like if you  had all that stuff you’d really use it).
  • chicken and homemade noodles (thanks for the recipe Momo)
  • the bible, Louis L’amour books, biographies, and historical fiction.
  • blue heelers, arabian horses, (they are just pretty) and green parakeets (although, I don’t have any of them)
  • apple and pear green
  • the movie Ishtar (I know, but our family can sing most the songs and we crack up talking about it).
  • the song "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning" by Alan Jackson (I cried the first time I heard it—it touched so many emotions we felt on that awful and sad day.

I hate:

  • snakes.
  • feta cheese.
  • rap.
  • sweating (not working–just sweating).
  • raw fish.
  • that I can’t carry a tune.
  • the cancer that took my special friend’s life the night before Easter.

I am amazed:

  • that my daughter can talk for hours and still think of something to say.
  • that the Rockies are sooo majestic.
  • at the power and force of nature.
  • that chocolate can taste so good (oh-oh, here I go again).
  • and lastly that you are actually reading our blog……ENJOY!
