Mayron and I have finally picked a date for our show. As usual, it will be in my home on Tues. 11-18-08. We will be e-mailing and sending out flyers in about a week. If you are interested in coming, but are not on our mailing list, e-mail me and I will send you the info you need. We will continue to post more on the show in upcoming days. I will post a few pics here and there for a sneak peak at a thing or two. Everyone always has fun at these shows, so hope you can make it if you live in the area.

Today, I read the prayer requests posted by Debbie at talking white trash and Mindy at primitiques ‘n poetry. I really don’t feel I can add to the words they expressed for little Witt and his family. But, we do ask you to pray as I know their hearts are aching and that through all this they might know “the peace of God that passes understanding”.  Since I don’t know how to add the prayer button to our sidebar, I am linking to their sight, so you can follow their news and this incredible journey they all are on. You may link to Witt’s journey here.

Thank you,  marcie and mayron

Just wanted to let everyone know, Mayron and I have been very busy trying to get ready for our house show in mid-November. Hopefully by Monday or Tuesday we will announce our actual show date. We will be posting some preview pics very soon. So you all hang in there and we will begin getting pics of the house on the blog. We still seem to be having trouble with some folks being able to comment. Give it a try, so we know if we need to fix it…..even tho, we don’t know of any problems.  If you can’t get thru, would you mind e-mailing us to let us know? Thanks! And remember your 1st post has to be approved by us, so it might not show up until I check my e-mails. This pic I’m posting was taken in Fayetteville during Warrenton/Round Top. Thought you might enjoy seeing this wonderful old tree.

Mayron and I decided maybe we needed a little time in  church after spending several days seeing things we couldn’t possibly have or they were already sold.  :) The old coveting problem kicks in for some reason at Warrenton and Marburger!! LOL We have wanted to take this precious little church home with us for all the yrs. we’ve been coming down here together! Wouldn’t it be fun to fix up  that for a small, quaint wedding, or have fun showers inside for bride or a newborn, or fix it up for romantic anniversary dinners, or ladies how about coming over for an old fashion slumber party!! The list could go on.  Not sure if coveting a church is any better than coveting the cool merchandise, but…..oh, well. Thank heaven for forgiveness! You can find this little jewel on Hwy 237 between Roundtop, Tx and Warrenton, Tx, so if you are ever in that area stop by and visit our church.

Last….but not least. This is the last set of pics we took at Marburger. Lindra and Alan have been setting up in Marburger and Warrenton for I don’t know how long. They always set up a wonderful booth with beautiful merchandise. This isn’t the only place you can see them, though. They are, also, in the Mews in Dallas, plus they have their own shop. The merchandise they carry in these two places is just out of this world. Take the opportunity if you are ever in Dallas to visit them. You’ll be glad you did. Their shop, Parkhouse Antiques, is located at 114 Parkhouse Street, Dallas, Tx. 75207.

Well, maybe the seashells aren’t by the seashore any more….instead they are at Marburger, Tx. But, take a look at what a stunning job Elizabeth does with them. She does absolutely beautiful work. We met Elizabeth at a mall we were both in in McKinney, Tx and she did a show with us in south Tx. After looking at our not so professional photos get on Elizabeth’s website Studio De La Mer and check out all the stuff she’s done and where her shell art has taken her.

Oh, you must be in that very large aviary, or in all those little birdcages stacked up high, or maybe in that big white cage. We’d like you all to meet our very talented friend (in case you don’t know her already), Judy from J Hill Design. We have finally made it to Marburger with our pictures. Judy has been setting up in Tent A for a few years now. She always has a “wow” booth! This time is no exception with the front of her space done in birdcages.  Judy’s husband Billy is the muscle and support behind the scene and has developed quite an eye for this. And according to Mayron she likes him best! LOL! Judy sets up at First Monday in Canton every month in the Arbors and her next open house is Dec 4th. at her home. We will add this to our calendar as we get it on our blog. Meanwhile here is a sampling of her work. We know you’ll enjoy it!

It’s Kathy from KJ Texas!! Kathy is known for the wonderful old doors she finds. Whether you need interior or exterior doors, she has them. And they all have their own special character. She, also, carries reclaimed lumber, fab other architectural pieces, and other just cool stuff. We’ve known Kathy for several yrs. I think we met her in the fields in Canton, Tx, but used to go to her shop she had in Austin. These pics were taken at Mark’s field “Excess” in Warrenton. It’s just a small sampling of what she carries.

Theresa is known by sooo many people in this business including us. I’ve mentioned before that Debbie from Talking White Trash encouraged us to get a blog going. But the woman behind her encouraging her was Theresa from Garden Antqs. They were the 1st two blogs we were linked to. So, we’d like to thank Theresa, too, for helping us get going. Sorry we missed her blog party, but got talking to a friend and totally lost track of the time! Next time I hope. Our age shines thru sometimes!  Here are the pics we took in Theresa’s booth. She’s not only a great gal, but puts together a great booth. Oh yeh, about the familiar face…we got talking to Theresa while she was cutting up avocados and limes for guacamole (I guess) and totally forgot to take her pic…so no face!

Gina and Alan are an institution at Zapp in Warrenton. They have wonderful, wonderful merchandise set up in an always fantastic display. You had better look quick, though, as they sell out fast!!  The "Country Garden Antiques" is their shop in Dallas. It’s located at 147 Parkhouse St., Dallas, Tx. 75207 in the design district. We don’t know of anyone who has as much vintage Christmas ornaments as Gina. Their shop is definitely the place to go if you are looking for Christmas decor. Stop in and see them when you are in Dallas!!

Meet Portia, Gina’s good friend and helper.  Portia lends a hand to Gina by helping her set up her space and rearranging as things sell. We’ve known Portia for yrs. She was a huge source of encouragement to us especially in the early days as we were breaking into this business. And she still is quite a cheerleader for our shows, style and merchandise, etc. Fyi, Portia, also, is in this business and sells out of her home. She has cool stuff and a great style truly unique to her.
